Schmidt prism is suitable for creating right-handed images with a 45 ° light deviation. Its function is similar to that of the Amisiya spine prism. However, the 45 ° light deviation of the Schmidt prism makes it important for eyepiece assembly and imaging systems that require path bending. The ridge surface of aluminum coated film can improve overall efficiency, while a 5-second ridge angle tolerance can enhance the resolution of prisms. Schmidt prisms can be combined with half pentagonal prisms to create Pecken prisms.
